Dear MPD-Oz visitor,

On Saturday 23 June 2007, the Myeloproliferative Disorders Australia (MPD-Oz) Inc. was formed to provide care, support and assistance to people with MPD's and their carers.  The purposes of the association are:

(a) Providing personalised care, relief and support to individuals suffering from Myeloproliferative disorders and their carers. All services are to be provided free of charge to patients and families.
(b) Providing information and broad based education activities to individuals suffering from Myeloproliferative disorders to empower them to be proactive in the management of their MPD’s.
(c) Providing information and broad based education to carers and service providers including health care workers and other organisations to enable them to appropriately support individuals suffering from Myeloproliferative disorders.
(d) Promoting and fundraising for medical research into the causes, prevention and treatment of Myeloproliferative disorders.
(e) Engaging in such activities as to raise community awareness of Myeloproliferative disorders.

 The association is a member association open to individuals with MPD's and their carers, individual health care practioners and individuals from the wider community with an interest in helping meet the objectives of the association.

To join the association, costs entry fee $AUD 10 and an annual subscription $AUD 10 - these fees are designed to be low so as not to be a barrier to membership of the association.  You can [Weblink; download an application form ] and return it with a cheque or postal order made out exactly to Myeloproliferative Disorders Australia (MPD-Oz) Inc. and post it to the MPD-Oz postal address.
